A Tour of Tory Burch’s House in the Hamptons

/ View All

Every once in a while, a house comes along that is so extraordinary, it literally takes my breath away.

Tory Burch’s twenty-five room neo-Georgian estate in Southampton (featured in the March issue of Vogue) is ravishingly beautiful.  Reminiscent of homes from the Gatsby era, it is classically proportioned and detailed, but it’s been freshened up with a vibrant sense of color and pattern.

The long driveway is gorgeously framed with an allee of mature sugar maple trees …

Boxwood topiaries and classic white-and-black marble floors in the gallery hallways lead to a wood-paneled library filled with touches of English style and chinoiserie …

The formal living room comes alive with silk persimmon curtains, a brass and crystal chandelier, botanical fabrics and artwork, and antique wood furnishings …

With its Iznik-inspired panels, Tory’s dining room speaks to a life  of travel and discovery …

Antique blue-and-white china, woven flooring and furniture, and masses of hydrangeas set a relaxed mood in the sunroom …

… while outdoors, the dining table in Tory’s trellis-paneled poolhouse is set with a blue toile tablecloth and Mottahedeh’s Tobacco Leaf dinnerware dinnerware.

Finally, upstairs, the walls in the master bedroom are soothingly paneled with a Colefax and Fowler print …

What an extraordinary project from designer/architect Daniel Romualdez and decorator Eve Hood!
