Rosso Vecchio Red Dinnerware

With its crackled glaze, Rosso Vecchio dinnerware has us seeing red - the Italian color of life, love and passion! Rosso Vecchio took many years to perfect. Red is one of the hardest colors to work with when firing ceramic glazes. The name Rosso Vecchio, or “Crackled Red” came from the process the artisans use to create the color. The pieces are first glazed with black and fired, then re-dipped in a red glaze. When fired again, the red glaze crackles to show the black underneath. This process creates the most beautiful, radiant red.
