A very good item and much needed. I expected there to be a hemstich around the edge to protect it from fraying in use and washing. That was the only disappointment. Not sure why these pads fell out of fashion as they muffle sound and add texture to the table. In some cases they can help with spills and a hot pan being placed on the tablecloth for a brief moment.
