One of the best-known yokai is Tengu, a mountain spirit with avian features, famous for its prominent nose and defiant temper. This interpretation in matte porcelain reimagines the legendary Tengu through a contemporary lens, emphasizing refined forms with a strong visual impact. The use of solid colors such as pistachio green, white, and black enhances this clean aesthetic and creates a vibrant contrast.
The hand-carved wings recall the original character, adding texture, volume, and dynamism. The glazed finish on the face and horns introduces a play of light that heightens the expressiveness of the piece.
