You Choose One 150 Sculptures (Limited Edition) (Special Order)

You Choose One is an artwork created by Spanish artist Javier Calleja for the artistic platform Art Editions. Each composition in this limited edition of 150 units is comprised of three pieces of porcelain and glass—Child, Devil Cat, and Angel Cat—all sharing the same decoration. For this version, two specific colors have been created ad hoc: the color of the child's skin and the black of the cat, seeking a warm tone that has been achieved through the development of a reddish black. The pieces are hand-painted in a range of warm and intense tones, selected by Javier Calleja himself from Lladró's color palette of over 4000 shades, formulated by the company's chemical team. The creations of You Choose One – Limited Series of 150 units reflect Javier Calleja's plastic universe, translating his imagery into the world of artisan porcelain. With no other motive than to evoke emotions, the artist invites us to think through vibrant, colorful compositions with an innocent appearance. Such is the case of this trio of characters that recalls the 'Jiminy Cricket' we all have inside. The pieces that make up You Choose One combine porcelain with glass, the material used for the expressive eyes of the characters, so important in Calleja's work. Another notable feature of this collection is the packaging. Each box is made of wood and includes a special certificate signed by the artist.

An iconic Spanish brand, Lladro is a world leader in the creation of porcelain art. Started by brothers Juan, Jose and Vicente Lladro in 1953, the ceramic figurines were initially inspired by the works of great European manufacturers like Meissen and Sevres. Over time, a unique style was forged, consisting of elongated lines, a revolutionary single-firing method, and soft pastel tones.
