Currently run by the sixth generation of the family, Lobmeyr was founded in 1823 by Josef Lobmeyr, who soon became purveyor to the Austrian Imperial Court. Though it is focused on a contemporary interpretation of glass, the company continually cultivates its heritage. Lobmeyr fans across time have included the King of Siam, Mao Tse-Tung, the Swedish royal family, and the Imperial Courts of Vienna, Madrid, Stockholm, and Athens.
